If you have spent time as a child in a foster home, shelter,
relative care or group home, we would like to talk to you about becoming
a mentor.
There are more than 10,000 children in and out of home
care in Arizona and more than 2,700 in Pima County. We are
launching a community-wide campaign to recruit, train, and match adult
alumni mentors with teens who are in the system now.
Studies have shown that a trusted volunteer mentor who becomes a
consistent and caring adult in a young person's life can play an
essential role in reducing his/her risk of unfavorable outcomes and
increasing his/her chance of success in life.
