In My Shoes, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to ensure that young people experiencing out-of-home care will be supported through their transitional years to develop the competencies to realize their potential as adults. We were created by alumni of foster care and our closest allies in the child welfare system.

Our staff, mentors, and club facilitators are all adults who were once raised in the foster care system and are committed to imporoving the lives of our brothers and sisters of foster care.  We serve our mission and reach our goals by offering one-on-one mentoring, group mentoring, events, and by creating awareness.

If you would like to become a mentor or to volunteer for any of our committees or boards, please fill out a volunteer interest form or contact us

In My Shoes is now a Qualifying Charitable Organization! You may now donate directly on our web-site by going to our donations page!

One-On-One Mentoring
We match adults whom have spent significant time in foster homes or group homes with youth currently in foster care ages 16-17.

Group Mentoring
We offer group mentoring primarily through our youth clubs. Our youth enjoy fun activities while being mentored by their peers and alumni of the foster care system who serve as facilitators.

Events
We offer four main events throughout the year. These events serve our family of foster care by providing unique opportunities to create awareness, highlight individual success, or by building a bond for our brothers and sisters of foster care.

Creating
Awareness
We are committed to providing awareness about issues, our experiences and strenths from foster care. Through these trainings and events, we strengthen the belief that our youth and alumni are Strong! Resilient! Amazing! and are worthy and capable of success!
